Donated Merchandise:

Our Pricing Policy and our Mission

Gulfstream Goodwill’s mission is to help people with disabilities and other barriers to employment to become self- sufficient, working members of our community.

Over 100 years ago, Goodwill Industries created a new system in America to solicit and process donated goods to be sold in thrift stores. It served to provide rehabilitation, training and employment for people, and revenues to support the mission. This system remains durable and is intact today throughout the United States.

Goodwill teaches people to support themselves through work by giving them a hand up, not a hand out. Not charity, but a chance. We do not give away merchandise as charity, welfare or special assistance to individuals. There are other organizations created with this mission. All merchandise is to be sold to support the stated mission of Gulfstream Goodwill Industries.

Donated merchandise is sold at an appropriate price. We have a responsibility to support our mission, and also to our donors to acquire the best possible price to maximize the impact of their generosity.

We thank you for your continued patronage and your contribution in helping people with disabilities and other barriers to employment to lead lives with dignity.
