Vocational Evaluations

Career development and planning is the focus of vocational assessments. The purpose of Vocational Evaluation is to determine an individual's academic achievement, vocational interests, aptitudes and work habits, combining these with work history and transferable skills so that realistic vocational goals can be identified. Students indecisive in career planning, dislocated workers, or persons with functional limitations resulting from disabilities are but a few examples of those who may find benefits from a vocational evaluation.

Community Based Situational Assessment (CBSA)

CBSA provides detailed information about an individual's performance and overall work habits. Positions are established with local employers on a temporary basis in order to provide a choice of sites based upon vocational interest. A job coach is assigned to observe the individual's work habits during the full duration of the CBSA. Detailed information regarding the individual's performance and recommendations are provided to the individual so they can make career choices that are realistic and rewarding.

Work Adjustment Training

Work adjustment training is for individuals that require enhanced individualized training to over come barriers which hinder them from obtaining competitive employment. Work training is carefully assessed by a case manager and can be performed at our facility or in the community at an employer worksite. Generally, training is focused on building/upgrading; work speed, work habits and behaviors, safety awareness, independent living, social skills, advocacy skills, and time management.

Job Placement

The goal of Job Placement is to secure and maintain competitive employment that meets the interests, skills and abilities of each participant. Assisting individuals to locate employment leads, develop resumes and learn interviewing skills are just some of the services that our Employment Consultants provide. When necessary, job coaching and/or supported employment are available.

Supported Employment

Supported Employment enables people with disabilities who have not been successfully employed to work and maintain integrated community-based employment. Supported employment focuses on a person’s abilities and provides the supports the individual needs to be successful on a long-term basis. We provide training of employers and co-workers who may have never worked alongside a person with a disability, on-site job coaching, and work environment assessments to determine if job modifications would improve the employee’s productivity.
